Nice article! As for me, I use SCREENish (https://www.screenish.com/), it’s easy and convenient. Work day is visualized as a timeline, there are integrations with popular project management systems. You can also prepare flexible reports by using different filters.

  • Nice overview! I have always worked in hours-driven industries and definitely recognize the necessity (and sometimes hassle) of the timetracking process. I never experienced it as invasive, but it can ironically become a time-consuming process if it’s not done right. Especially when you need to backtrack and remember what you have worked on.
This is exactly what we kept in mind when we developed Jibble.io. Full disclosure: I’m the Product Manager for Jibble.

Hi, I want to install a userfriendly timetracker device for a staff of trainer-consultants. At the moment, oulook is used by everyone and It would be great that this app is compatible with outlook calendar. For the consultants it must give transparency of their time they (as individuals or as a team) invest in their projects, clients and tasks (analyses, planning, delivery, evaluation, follow up) and within my organization (non trainingtime- organization development, meeting, ….) For me, it has to give me the opportunity to have a dashboard to follow up my staff, at every moment, be able to plan when meeting a client for a intake, and to give me details about the overall time spent within my organization and by every individual trainer. Thanks for your suggestions!

  • Hi,
great list. I’m using MoneyPenny Time Tracker – this is the best tool for teams. Live time tracking feature gives an instant look who is working on what task – very useful and affordable https://moneypenny.me/en/live-time-tracking

  • Cliff Mitchell

Hey Tina, employees can do that in ClockShark, http://www.clockshark.com. Full disclosure, I work there. 🙂

  • Werek

Does anybody know a tracker that can track time in every single app used. e.g. Word 4h, Indesign 16h, Excel 3h and so on? Oh and the tracker should work on iOS and Mac and must not need an open internet connection

    • Shane Mileham

RescueTime does that for Mac (Great app – highly recommend). However, because iOS sandboxes apps, no app can have that capability unless you jailbreak your phone.
